6 Best Spots for Breakfast in Yountville
Yountville is known as the culinary capital of Napa Valley, home to world-renowned restaurants and some seriously talented chefs. But does breakfast in Yountville live up to its foodie reputation?
I can tell you right now, you won’t be disappointed!
From a famous French bakery by Michelin-starred chef Thomas Keller to a charming little shop serving some of the most creative macaron flavors I’ve ever tasted (including savory ones!), Yountville has some incredible places to start your morning.
I‘ve visited Napa Valley dozens of times over the years, and one thing I always make time for is breakfast. Not only because I love a good pastry and coffee, but because starting a day of wine tasting on an empty stomach is never a good idea.
And Yountville happens to be in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Napa Valley. Whether you’re staying in town or stopping in before heading to the wineries, it’s an easy place to enjoy breakfast before exploring the rest of wine country.
After eating my way through Yountville’s bakeries and cafés, these are five breakfast spots I recommend, where you can grab a quick coffee and pastry, something hearty to fuel your day, or a leisurely weekend brunch.
And I’m sharing my personal favorite, which I also think is one of the most underrated breakfast spots in Yountville!

1. Madeleine’s Macarons & Crepes
Best hidden gem breakfast in Yountville
A little taste of France in Yountville! I think Madeleine’s Macarons & Crepes is one of the most underrated breakfast spots in town. And honestly my new favorite breakfast spot in Yountville!
I recently visited this adorable, family-owned bakery for the first time, and I was so impressed. While they’re known for their beautiful French macarons, they also serve delicious made-to-order crepes, with both sweet and savory options.
I ordered the lemon ricotta crepe, and it was SO good. The filling was creamy without being overly sweet, and I loved every bite. My husband went with the egg and cheese crepe for something more savory. Everything tasted fresh, and the service was surprisingly quick.
But what really makes Madeleine’s stand out is their macarons!
I’ve had plenty of macarons over the years, but I’ve never come across such creative flavors. Along with their seasonal sweet options, they had savory combinations like apple, Gorgonzola and almond, bacon and fig, and even black garlic. Yes, black garlic in a macaron!
I love finding places that offer something a little different, especially in a town known for its food scene. And while Yountville has some very famous bakeries, I think Madeleine’s deserves just as much attention.
If you’re looking for a casual breakfast before wine tasting, or simply want to try something unique, definitely add this little bakery to your list.

What to Order
- A sweet or savory crepe (the Lemon Ricotta was amazing)
- A selection of their creative sweet and savory macarons is a MUST
Why You’ll LOVE It
- Family-owned French bakery
- Delicious made-to-order crepes
- Unique macaron flavors you won’t find everywhere
- Quick service

2. Bouchon Bakery
Most iconic bakery in Yountville
If it’s your first trip to Napa Valley, Bouchon Bakery is one of those places you just have to visit!
This famous French-inspired bakery was created by Chef Thomas Keller, the culinary mastermind behind The French Laundry and several other acclaimed restaurants in town.
And let me tell you, Bouchon Bakery is POPULAR. There is almost always a line stretching out the door, especially on weekends. But when you see the beautiful pastries, freshly baked breads, and colorful macarons inside, it’s easy to understand why so many people make a stop here.
I’ve visited Bouchon Bakery several times, and my absolute favorite pastry is their chocolate almond croissant. It’s the one I keep coming back for! I also love picking up a couple of their giant macarons. They’re delicate, delicious, and such a fun treat.
My #1 tip when visiting Bouchon Bakery is … order ahead whenever possible. That way, you can spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying your breakfast before heading out for a day of wine tasting (one of my favorite wineries to visit).
Whether you’re craving a buttery croissant, something sweet to go with your morning coffee, or a few pastries to share, Bouchon Bakery is a classic Yountville experience.

3. Mini Model Bakery
Best quick & filling breakfast in Yountville
If you’re looking for a quick, delicious breakfast before heading out for a day of exploring wine country, Mini Model Bakery is the stop!
Located in the heart of Yountville, Mini Model is the smaller version of the famous Model Bakery, which also has locations in Downtown Napa and St. Helena. It’s a tiny, counter-service bakery without seating, making it perfect for grabbing breakfast on the go (you can order ahead here too!).
And of course, the main attraction is their famous English muffins!
If you’ve read any of my other Napa Valley guides, you probably already know how much I LOVE these English muffins. They’ve even made Oprah’s Favorite Things list, multiple times, and I can completely understand why.
I honestly never leave Napa Valley without bringing home at least a four-pack. Tip: I freeze them to enjoy later. And yes, they’re really that good!
For breakfast, you can order one of their English muffins as a sandwich with egg, cheese, and your choice of breakfast meat. But sometimes I like to keep it simple with just a little butter and a smear of their homemade jam.
If you have a full day of wine tasting planned and don’t want to spend too much time sitting down for breakfast, Mini Model Bakery is an easy and delicious option.

What to Order
- Famous English muffin — a must-try!
- English muffin breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and breakfast meat
Why You’ll LOVE It

4. Honor Market
Best Coffee & Light Breakfast in a Unique Spot
A gas station for breakfast in Napa Valley? Trust me on this one!
Honor Market is one of the most unique stops in Yountville, and it’s worth checking out even if you’re not looking for breakfast.
Part gas station, part upscale convenience store, Honor Market has a fun retro vibe and sells everything from boutique wines and locally sourced provisions to artisan coffee and freshly baked pastries. Only in Napa Valley would you find a gas station like this, and I am all for it!
It’s also known for its hot dogs, but in the morning, I recommend stopping in for a good cup of coffee and something sweet before heading out for wine tasting.
On our visit, we ordered a lavender latte, and it was delicious! Sometimes lavender can be a little overpowering in coffee, but this one had just the right amount. You could taste the lavender without it taking over the entire drink.
We also tried one of their scones, which was moist and dusted with powdered sugar. Such a nice little treat to go with our coffee!
Now, I personally like a more substantial breakfast before spending the day at the wineries, so I wouldn’t necessarily make Honor Market my only breakfast stop. But if you’re looking for something light, a great coffee, or a few provisions to take along for the day, this is such a fun place to visit.
And honestly, it’s worth stopping in just to browse!

What to Order
- Coffee and a freshly baked scone for a lighter breakfast
- A few provisions to enjoy later in the day
Why You’ll LOVE It
- A fun, retro-style gas station with an upscale Napa Valley twist
- A selection of boutique wines and locally sourced provisions
- A unique stop that’s fun to browse & come back for lunch to try their hotdogs!

5. Lucy’s Restaurant & Bar

If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that’s a little more upscale, where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a leisurely morning, Lucy’s Restaurant & Bar is where you should go. Perfect if you are looking for more of a brunch vibe for a romantic getaway or a group of friends.
Located inside the luxurious Bardessono Hotel & Spa, Lucy’s offers a beautiful farm-to-table dining experience. It’s the kind of place you visit when you’re not in a rush to get to your first wine tasting.
The menu features fresh, California-inspired breakfast dishes, including favorites like avocado toast, açaí bowls, and chilaquiles. Whether you’re craving something light and healthy or a more substantial breakfast, there are plenty of options.
One of the things that makes Lucy’s especially appealing is its outdoor patio. On a warm, sunny Napa Valley morning, it’s a lovely setting to linger over breakfast with your significant other or a group of friends.

6. Clementine Yountville
Best for girls’ trips, bachelorette weekends, and a picture-perfect brunch.
If you’re planning a girls’ trip, bachelorette, or mother daughter weekend in Napa Valley, Clementine needs to be on your radar!
One of Napa Valley’s newer and most popular restaurants, Clementine is easily one of the cutest, most aesthetically pleasing restaurants in wine country. Seriously, every inch of this place feels Instagram-worthy!
From the gorgeous decor to the beautiful back patio, Clementine is all about fun brunch vibes, creative food, and incredible drinks. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to dress up a little, order something fun (like their Aperol Spritz tower!), and spend the morning catching up with your girlfriends.
And the menu is just as exciting as the atmosphere! You’ll find creative takes on brunch classics, like lavender citrus French toast, apple and ricotta pancakes, and an Italian-style Benedict.
One thing to keep in mind: Clementine is the most expensive breakfast or brunch option on this list. But if you’re celebrating something special or looking for a memorable girls’ brunch, this is exactly the kind of experience you might want to splurge on.
What to Order
- Lavender Citrus French Toast: A creative twist on a classic brunch favorite.

Tips for Visiting Yountville & Things to do
If you’re stopping in Yountville just for breakfast, I highly recommend leaving a little extra time to explore this charming town.
Yountville is quintessential Napa Valley, and walking down Washington Street honestly feels like you’ve stepped into a Hallmark movie. Between the beautiful landscaping, tasting rooms, public art sculptures, and incredible restaurants, it’s such a lovely place to wander.
If you have the time, start at one end of Washington Street and make your way to the other, stopping along the way to see The French Laundry, Chef Thomas Keller’s world-famous three-Michelin-star restaurant.
I still remember the first time I saw it because I was genuinely surprised! For such a famous restaurant, it’s tucked into a quiet neighborhood and looks almost like an ordinary house. Not at all what I was expecting!
Across the street, you can catch a glimpse of The French Laundry’s beautiful culinary gardens and its chicken coop. It’s such a fun little stop, especially if you love food and have heard about this legendary restaurant.
Another fun way to explore town is the Yountville Art Walk, a self-guided tour featuring sculptures scattered throughout Yountville. They even offer a free audio tour, so you can learn about the artwork as you go!
And don’t forget to pop into the boutique shops, explore the V Marketplace, or browse one of the local art galleries along the way.
Even if you’re only visiting Yountville for an hour or two, it’s definitely worth taking some time to explore beyond breakfast!
🍷 Wine Gal Tip: Not starting your day in Yountville? If your first wine tasting is farther north, check out my favorite breakfast spots in St. Helena. Or, if you’re staying closer to downtown Napa, I’ve also rounded up the top places to grab breakfast there before heading out to the wineries!

From Breakfast in Yountville to Wine Tasting
From buttery pastries at Bouchon Bakery to delicious crepes at Madeleine’s, Yountville has some incredible breakfast spots to kick off your day in Napa Valley. And speaking of wineries, don’t forget to plan your transportation! Having a private driver or booking a wine tour makes the day so much more relaxing, especially if you’re visiting multiple wineries.
One of my favorite recommendations is Napa Native, which offers personalized private wine tours featuring boutique wineries and hidden gems throughout Napa Valley. They take care of the planning and driving, so all you have to do is enjoy the experience.
